Eagles release Pro Bowl quarterback Andy Dalton after just one disastrous pass in loss

The Philadelphia Eagles saw Andy Dalton throw one pass and decided they'd seen enough.

Dalton, 38, entered the Eagles 27-7 Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears after Jalen Hurts briefly left the game with an injury. The Eagles were down 7-0 in the second quarter and faced third-and-goal from the Bears' 2-yard line.

The three-time Pro Bowler took the shotgun snap but threw an interception when rookie safety Dillon Thieneman jumped the pass. On Friday, before the team departed for London, the Eagles released Dalton.

After Daltons interception, the Eagles promoted Tanner McKee to the backup quarterback role, dropping the former Cincinnati Bengals star to No. 3 on the depth chart. Now, he is no longer with the team.

The Eagles were the sixth team Dalton played for during his career . He was a starter for the first nine years of his career with the Bengals but has since served as a backup for several teams.
